Mounton House is a grade II* listed building divided in four large apartments. Our clients bought two of them and asked us to prepare designs for a reconfiguration and fit-out. This project sensitively adapts the property to the needs of the owners while maintaining and restoring the integrity of the building.

An historic building.

Mounton House was built in 1911 for Mr H. Avray Tipping, french-born british writer and garden designer. It is one of the first concrete buildings in Wales.

The majority of the interior walls are covered with the original timber panelling from floor to cornice. The ceilings in the reception room and the master bedroom are original ornate plaster reliefs.

Reinstate the original layout.

Crude sub-divisions from the 1990s have been removed to reinstate the proportions and character of the original rooms. Chimneys, timber panellings, ornate plaster ceilings, concrete floors and wooden floors have been renovated as well.
